The Jim Templa Band formed in November 2022. Jim was looking for a band to play original material and got lucky when Iain Bickle returned to the UK from Canada with the same idea. Jim had played very briefly with Iain in the 80s and was very pleased to have Iain on board with the project. Needing a bass player Jim contacted gifted musician and local legend Chris Garratt to ask if he knew any bass players who might be interested. The reply “I wouldn't mind doing it” sealed the deal and rehearsals commenced.
The band put a set together in a short space of time and played their first gig January 2023. Since then they have gigged extensively and built up a following.
